We are delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Jones, director at Whitley Stimpson, to the board of the Banbury Chamber of Commerce. The role of board director is voluntary but Andy will attend monthly board meetings and be closely involved in policy decisions for the benefit of the local business community.
The Chamber of Commerce is a recognised voice of the Banbury business community providing support, information and networking opportunities to its members. The primary aim of Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce is to improve the economic environment of Banbury and outlying areas whilst sustaining quality of life within the community by campaigning for effective transportation, education and skills training, appropriate development of land and a vibrant town centre.
Andy has been director at Whitley Stimpson’s Banbury office for the last four years specialising in education and charity work delivering a range of audit, financial reporting, accounting and advisory services. Andy explains: “I am delighted to be joining the Board. The Chamber provides a vital voice for business in the local area and this is a particularly exciting time to become involved as the Chamber develops a business plan for the future and continues to build its influence in the local area. I am now looking forward to developing and growing the Chamber through my new role and hope I can further enhance the Chamber’s strategy and its links with the local community and schools sector.”
Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce chairman Nick Poole explains: “Andy brings enormous business experience, but also has a strong interest in the Education sector as well as the Banbury Museum of which he is a Trustee.”
