Leading education services accountancy firm, Whitley Stimpson Ltd, has announced dates for its 2015 Academies Brunch Club and strongly urges School Business Managers to sign-up fast due to limited availability.
The first of two free events will take place on Thursday 23 April (10.00am – 2.00pm) at Banbury Cricket Club with the theme ‘a year in the life of…’ which will focus on some of the key issues faced by School Business Managers throughout the year.
Following the popularity of last year’s inaugural ABC event, Whitley Stimpson has developed the club to help Academies learn from experts as well as being able to share common insights, experiences and knowledge amongst each other.
Martin Wyatt, Head of Education Services at Whitley Stimpson, said: “We are delighted to announce two free ABC events this year, which are designed to offer Academies much needed guidance and advice in a sector that’s continuously evolving. We’ve already had over 30 people sign-up for our April event and encourage anyone who would like to attend to quickly register so as not to miss out.”
Whitley Stimpson’s education team welcomes the return of guest speaker, Jennifer Jewitt, Finance Director of South Hunsley School, to this month’s event. Jennifer will look at key challenges in her role such as budgeting, cost cutting reviews, the impact of curriculum changes and sourcing additional grant funding.
In addition, today’s School Business Managers need to be aware of employment law issues and how best to manage these, which will be covered by guest speaker, Matthew Wolton, Head of Academies at Clark Holt Solicitors.
Whitley Stimpson’s experienced education team will also provide a brief update on some of the key financial and regulatory developments impacting Academies and there will be time for an open forum to share common insights and knowledge. All education team members will be on hand throughout to answer any questions.
The second 2015 ABC event, aimed at School Business Managers, Finance Directors, Bursars and Finance Governors, is also free to attend and will take place at Banbury Cricket Club, Wednesday 8 July.
Whitley Stimpson’s education team work with and advise over 70 Academies, covering sponsored Academies, converter Academies, SEN Academies, single and mixed phase Multi- Academy Trusts and Free Schools, providing a comprehensive range of financial and governance support and advice.
