Whitley Stimpson, one of the largest independent accountancy practices and business advisors in the area, raised over £1,300 for SpecialEffect after some of its staff ran the Oxford Half Marathon this month.
SpecialEffect is an Oxfordshire-based charity which uses video games and technology to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Laura Adkins, director, Luke Wiseman, senior manager, and Maria Cunningham, marketing manager, braved the torrential rain last weekend, completing the half marathon to raise funds for the Whitley Stimpson Twin Town Challenge 2020 team, in aid of SpecialEffect.
Laura Adkins, who heads up the Witney office, said:
“Running in the Oxford Half Marathon was extremely challenging (and very wet!) but we have been overwhelmed by the generous donations which made all the hard work, both on the day and in training, worthwhile.
“The people at SpecialEffect do incredible work bringing fun and inclusion into the lives of those with physical disabilities and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received.”
Whitley Stimpson has offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney and is proud to support its local communities, regularly taking part in sponsoring charitable causes.
