Whitley Stimpson, ranked as one of the top 100 accountancy firms in the UK, with offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney, raised over £550 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their coffee morning earlier this month, as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The coffee morning was organised by the High Wycombe office of the accountancy firm, who invited clients and local businesses to join them for a morning of refreshments and fun games. They were also joined by representatives from The Massage Company, who offered free massage taster sessions for a small charitable donation. The money raised will help to provide specialist health care, information, and financial and emotional support to people affected by cancer in the Buckinghamshire area.
Victoria Marzana, Senior Manager at Whitley Stimpson said:
“With cancer touching the lives of so many people we know, we wanted to come together as a team and raise funds. We were delighted to learn that our efforts had been such a success and will be used in the local area through the Buckinghamshire South Fundraising Group of Macmillan.”
The event was attended by Macmillan Cancer Support volunteers and ambassadors, Liz and Dave King, who are also the Fundraising Group Leader, and Business Liaison & Sponsorship Coordinator for the Buckinghamshire South Fundraising Group, respectively.
Liz said:
“Thank you to Whitley Stimpson for organising such a fabulous coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was great to meet so many of the team and the guests at this brilliantly organised caffeine, cake and chatter filled morning raising essential funds for Macmillan. Money raised will help to fund Macmillan nurses and other Macmillan Healthcare professionals in the community and at local hospitals like Wycombe Hospital, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Amersham Hospital, Thame Community Hospital and Marlow Community Hospital.”
Macmillan is almost entirely funded by donations and cannot support the growing number of people with cancer who need them without the public’s help. Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and there are over 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK and this is set to grow to almost 4 million by 2030.
