The ISBL are the UK’s leaders at working to shape the expectations of school leadership teams, and set the benchmark for school business excellence. The Approved Partner programme is designed to help schools with important procurement decisions. Companies who are given Approved Partner status are subjected to a vigorous vetting process, which includes taking multiple references from schools they work with.

Whitley Stimpson, which has offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney has a dedicated team of experts in the education field. The firm, which has recently been ranked in the top 100 practices in the country for the fifth year in a row, is recognised as being a leader in providing specialist services for the education sector.

Whitley Stimpson director Andy Jones, who has worked with educational organisations for over 20 years, explains: “As leading advisers on finance and governance in the education sector, we have repeatedly demonstrated how our expertise can help these institutions keep pace with constant changes, allowing them to remain focused on maintaining their high standards of education.

For Whitley Stimpson, becoming an ‘Approved Partner’ of the ISBL is further validation of our continued work for schools, and aligns us with the highest standards in this field.”

The education team at Whitley Stimpson advises a wide range of educational organisations, including standalone Academies, Multi-Academy Trusts, SEN Academies and Independent Schools  as well as a number of local and regional charities. Now acting for 30 Academy Trusts nationally, the firm has continued to build up its specialist team to cover not only the core audit and assurance compliance reporting, but to be able to assist and advise academies on a wider range of finance and governance matters.

Whitley Stimpson’s education experts are also taking part in the ISBL national conference at the Birmingham NEC on 15 and 16 of November 2018, with the event focus on ‘Projecting Professionalism’ – how this can be achieved, who the stakeholders are that can influence this, and how professionals can control their own recognition and acknowledgement.

Andy concludes: “The team is really looking forward to the conference. It’s always really interesting to hear first-hand what Academies, business leaders and governors are most concerned about. For us, it’s not just about us advising them – it’s about us listening to them and understanding all aspects of the education sector so we can offer the best support.”
