My experience
I work with a diverse range of clients and have experience in all aspects of accounting and taxation. In particular, I have built up specialist knowledge of auditing and charity accounting. I have also worked on ad hoc projects, such as due diligence work for business acquisitions, company restructures, and detailed tax planning.
Describe what you do at Whitley Stimpson
I play a key role in our audit department, leading audits for our medium and large corporate clients and charities. I am passionate about providing a high-quality audit, with maximum efficiency and minimal disruption to the client. It is rewarding to be able to deliver an audit that the client truly values.
Alongside this, I manage a portfolio of varied clients including SMEs, smaller charities, and personal tax clients. As well as dealing with routine compliance requirements, my clients know that I am always here to answer questions and provide ongoing support whenever they need it.
Why Whitley Stimpson?
During my first year studying at the University of Birmingham, I applied for work experience at the Banbury office, and I haven’t looked back since. I returned the following summer and after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Economics, in the top 5 of my cohort, I joined the firm as an ACA trainee. Since achieving my ACA qualification, I have been provided with the platform to progress and develop skills in new areas. I was appointed Local Office Director in 2021, meaning I can continue to take an active role in the management of my clients as well as the running of the Banbury office. I feel very lucky to work in a firm that allows me to specialise in what I am passionate about, whilst still benefiting from a variety of work.
What matters to you?
At work, it is important to develop strong relationships with both colleagues and clients, which enables us to deliver the high-quality service that we pride ourselves on. I seek to provide a supportive environment for our trainees, enabling them to benefit from the same opportunities for development that I was given.
Outside of work, spending time with friends and family matters most, whether that’s having a day out somewhere new or just having a catch-up over a cuppa and cake.
